Lots of Love for My Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 in Damier Ebene

Saturday, February 18th, 2012

Your first Louis Vuitton purchase should be a Speedy- that’s what they always say. And my, my, the experts couldn’t be more right.  I have to totally agree.  The speedy is a great city bag!  It is spacious and easy to carry.  Though not particularly a mommy-friendly bag, it is still my bag of choice when I’m out with friends.  Unlike the Alma, this purse is light weight.  It was my first LV purchase and I do not regret buying it.  Here are my shots with my LV!

I love my speedy!

My Speedy in Baguio.

The speedy is Louis Vuitton’s first ever city carry all bag and is a must have for women with a love for fashion.  The perfect accessory for getting around town in style while carrying all the essentials! (from the official Louis Vuitton website).  A close up look at my Speedy:

My first LV!

I believe every hard-working woman deserves a speedy!I absolutely adore my speedy in Damier Ebene. My friend, however, prefers it in monogram. Hmmm… I think they are both a beauty :-) How do you like your speedy?

Still Breastfeeding My 1 yr old

Monday, February 13th, 2012

Padma turned 1 last January 15 and I am proud to say that she is still purely breastfed until now! Like most breastfed babies, she is not overly fat nor tall. She still looks pretty much like a baby hahaha.
Even at this time, I still cherish the bonding moments we have when I feed her. She is overly attached to me- addicted even, if I may say so. Breastfeeding creates a sense of security for my child. Once in a while, I would give her solid food. One by one, her teeth are erupting. She needs something to bite on. This is maybe one of the dilemmas of breastfeeding moms- the stage where in babies mistake nipples for teethers. Gah, it is really painful. To relieve soreness, I have a pigeon nipple cream on standby. However, as I’ve said many times before, everything is all worth it.
Like I’ve said, she is still pretty much like a baby baby. She’s not yet walking independently- not like her big sisters when they turned 1.
Though she doesn’t know many tricks (the disadvantage of having a working mom is that I don’t have much time to teach her!*sad), I can see how smart she is. She is highly attentive and curious- her eyes lingering intently towards her environment. She also talks- or should I say babbles a lot!
I don’t know how long I can sustain breastfeeding her but I will just probably go on and on and on. After all, it’s the best gift that a mum can give to her child.

Addicted to Makeup!

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

I don’t know why but recently, I’ve been obsessing over cosmetics and make-up! Is it because I have become an avid viewer of Noe Mae’s (of colorismyweapon) youtube videos? I came across her tutorial when I wanted to do something about my dang eyebrows. Because of Pamela Anderson (of Baywatch fame) and Drew Barrymore, I trimmed my eyebrows to the point of vanishing many years ago. Now, since the in thing seems to be bigger and fuller eyebrows, I’m trying to see how much eyebrow makeup can help me. Then I stumbled upon colorismyweapon and the rest is history! Noe Mae is now my newfound makeup guru. One important lesson I’ve learned from her is that being beautiful need not be too expensive! Thanks to Noe Mae, I’ve started to trust local and affordable cosmetics such as Nichido, Fashion 21, and Fanny Serrano. I took her word for it and I’m glad I did!
I’ve been hauling so much cosmetics lately and here’s a picture of my recent purchases:

All these nice things only caused me a little under 2000 pesos! Great great buy!

Here are the prettifying things I bought:
1) Fanny Serrano Two-way Cake Foundation in Duchess – 399 pesos
2) Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Storm – 145 pesos
3) Fashion 21 Dipliner in Brown – 115 pesos
4) In2it Waterproof Eye colour set in Camel – 299.75 pesos
5) In2it Waterproof Blush set in Affinity – 379.75 pesos
6) Short angled brush from Fanny Serrano – 75 pesos
I’m excited to try them out soon. If I have the time, I’m going to blog about them.:-)
Thanks!

My Louis Vuitton Alma Multicolore Noir

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

The Alma is one of the most iconic bag designs of Louis Vuitton. That’s why Like any LV lover, this was definitely one of my dream bags! However, to have this bag entails a lot of serious money, which I do not really have. I’ve spent so much money on bags already that getting another one- and a Louis Vuitton at that, would be a sin! With a house loan in process, we are bracing ourselves for tough times. But of course, I am just human- and being so, I cannot exactly say no to a good offer!
I got my second hand Louis Vuitton Alma Multicolore Noir from a fashionista friend who gave it to me at a friendly rate. I could not miss the chance! My arms are so longing to carry the prestigious alma that I knew I had to grab it! After thoroughly inspecting the material and concluding that it is gorgeously authentic, I jumped at it.
Here’s my stunning Alma:

The multicolore print is still vibrant and beautiful. The leather has turned patina.

Louis Vuitton introduced its multicolore line in 2003.

It has a zipped pocket on the outside and pointy rivets around the base of the bag. Of course all hardwares are made of golden brass. Beautiful!

A peek inside the alma.

I could not get a clear picture of the datecode but it's there. A note on datecodes for the multicolore line: if the datecodes are dated before 2003, then your purse is a fake.

Multicolore prints are so alive and vibrant!

There are 33 different colors in an authentic multicolore. There shouldn't be any red LV sign.

The only obvious sign that my bag is second-hand is its base. A little uneven patina on the base.

I can't help falling in love with this bag!

Me and my Alma in a wedding reception.

My LV Alma is definitely an excellent buy! For my next LV purchase (though I don’t know how long would that be), I’m looking into getting a totally or a palermo. *keeping my fingers crossed*
Thanks and God bless you all!

Mary Kay Mineral Make-up Foundation

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

I got my Mary Kay Mineral Make-up Foundation from my aunt who lives in Canada. Mary Kay products are so pricey in the Philippines that I’d often think twice before I buy one. When I got it, I was pretty excited because it’s my first mineral loose powder foundation. Also, it comes with this wonderfully soft brush that I know I can most definitely reuse. What I was not so happy with was the shade- which was probably around a notch darker than my face. I, however, thought wrong because I found that it blended well with my skin tone after application.

The applicator brush is perfect- it has a soft feel and it successfully evens out the foundation on my face.

I don’t know how other people use it but for me, it’s like my setting powder- if there is such a thing. It’s like the final touch after I put on my BB cream, eye makeup, and blush. Yep, it’s definitely BB cream for me on a daily basis, no two-way cake foundation or anything like that. This way, I am able to achieve a more casual everyday make-up look, nothing fancy.

This is what it looks like inside.

I also realized that it is effective for make-up retouches. Even after a long and tiring day, a few quick dabs of this foundation and you’re ready to go.

It has a pretty good coverage (taken with flash).

Overall, I like it and it’s definitely a keeper. As I’ve said, it’s great for a setting powder and for touch-ups. I, however, would not use it alone as a base for my make-up because it would not really conceal the dark circles under my eyes and other imperfections. Also, one more thing is that because it’s in powder form, the stuff gets all over the place. Before putting it on your face, you need to tap the brush lightly to remove the excess.

It gives light to medium coverage. I wouldn't use this without a concealer.

I think this is a great product from Mary Kay but if I were to choose between a powder and a cake, maybe I’d still go for a cake type of foundation.

Lancome Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover Review

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Just a quick post before I doze off.  I got my Lancome Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover maybe last year and honestly, I didn’t exactly give it much thought.  See, I do not felt the need for it back then so I neatly stashed it away in the deepest parts of my drawers.  Just recently however, there is this growing fascination towards beauty products in me.  This sudden interest made me and my good friends avid visitors of a boutique selling heavenly Korean beauty products.  Now, the saleslady offered me a make-up remover.  She said it is very important for women to totally rid themselves of makeup residue before sleeping.  I suddenly remembered that I have one back at home- and that it was even a Lancome product- a truly wonderful brand if I may say so.  For the many months that it has been with me I tried it out and holy macaroni, it was absolutely magic!
At first, it seemed oily for me but then I realized that the oiliness actually makes the removal of the eye makeup easy and fast.  Afterwards, all the oily feeling magically disappears leaving behind dry and uber smooth skin.  I love it to bits!
Definitely, this product will be an important addition to my nightly beauty regimen.
