Preschoolville’s Kiddie Cookfest 2012

Monday, January 30th, 2012

One thing that’s so great about having your own school is that when it comes to activities- it’s sky’s the limit! In Preschoolville, we have conjured up relevant learning experiences that I’m sure the kids will remember forever. One of which is our recently held Kiddie Cookfest.

That's my daughter, Amber and her classmates doing their own rendition of pizza!

Our babies are also doing their own thing- whipping up a delicious buttercream frosting!

It's graham cake for our prep kids!

As a parent, I am truly happy to see my daughter, Amber, having the time of her life. She enjoys every minute of being in school and that is what matters most.

Newlyfound Teaching Resources for Think Ahead

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

After 7 days of teaching the kids of Think Ahead, I am getting the hang of it! Honestly, I am loving it… :-) One of the things that I include in my planning is sourcing the internet for worksheets and other activities related to my topic. The program for Think Ahead is basically composed of reading and math skills. To make it more organized, we made it literature-based. Anyway, I will be talking more about Think Ahead in the coming days and might share some of the cool worksheets I made for the program. For now, I want to highlight the great websites that I found in the last few days… Check them out, too!

This website contains cool reading comprehension worksheets to sharpen the thinking skills of kids who are already starting to read!

This website has plenty of wonderful worksheets catered to children with varying abilities!

As a pre-nursery and now a Think Ahead teacher, this website will forever remain to be one of my favorites!

I urge teachers like me to browse through these wonderful sites! Until my next post… Ciao!

We Made It!: Preschoolville’s Recognition and Graduation Program

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

Last March 18, 2011, we finally put a close to School Year 2010-2011! That day, which we celebrated with a Recognition/Graduation program, was unbelievably great! It was a happy and tearful event… An unforgettable moment that has surely left an indelible mark in the hearts of all of those involved. I could not help feeling proud of our team… It has been a tough road to take but we managed to do it and, surprisingly, even elevate it to incredible heights!
As always, the preparations have been rigid… the planning thorough. Like our other programs, we wanted it to be perfect—if possible, make it the best of them all. Conceptualizing the whole thing was not an easy process. Our dilemma involved synchronizing two programs (The Recognition of Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Kinder and the Graduation of Prep) in one- without making it very long and dragging. The presence of creative minds in our team made everything possible. It was a lot of hard work but we were able to pull through- with flying colors.
The whole thing was not an easy process. A program as big as this involved a lot of coordinating, planning, budgeting, and brainstorming!! Limited manpower resources prompted us to multi-task and work double time. Adding up to the mounting stressor is the presence of one parent who refused to join because he felt it was not necessary to recognize small children… But even so, we still had our happy ending… Thank you to our parents (who were very cooperative!) and kids (who seemed extra-behaved that day :-) )…
Already, we are gearing up for the next school year… We will continue putting our heads together to come up with nothing but the best!

Preschoolville Update: Spooky Fun Party 2010

Thursday, October 28th, 2010

As we await the launching of our website, I’ve decided to share my thoughts about recent experiences we’ve had in our school- Preschoolville Learning Center. I should have done this a long time ago… The bum in me has been waiting for some free time to get things done. Now, I realized that there is no such thing as ‘free time’. We alone can ‘make time’. Anyways, along side this, I vow to start mapping out the beginnings of what our website should look like… better watch out for this because we promise to make it explosive!
Well, just a few hours ago, we have successfully concluded our Spooky Fun Party in school. This is when we celebrate Halloween with a bang- dance presentations, games, snacks, trick-or-treat, and bonding with friends and family. Two years ago, I would not have said the same thing… But ever since we modified and improved the Halloween Program we have been accustomed to in another school, I have grown to really appreciate what we have done. See, our Spooky Fun Party does not have any element of competition since there are no best costume winners here… As what we always do, we put the children at the center of the whole thing- from the planning, organizing, and implementing. And in the process, without really trying so hard, we get to impress our parents, too.
Parents’ support are imperative to ensure the success of any program. Our reputation for pulling out effective activities have enabled us to rightfully earn their trust. Later on, whenever you seek their help, they know and believe that what you are doing are for their kids’ benefit.
Check out some of our Spooky Fun Party pictures!

I will really do my best to update my readers about the recent happenings in Preschoolville! Until our next program! Ciao!
