Lots of Love for My Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 in Damier Ebene

Saturday, February 18th, 2012

Your first Louis Vuitton purchase should be a Speedy- that’s what they always say. And my, my, the experts couldn’t be more right.  I have to totally agree.  The speedy is a great city bag!  It is spacious and easy to carry.  Though not particularly a mommy-friendly bag, it is still my bag of choice when I’m out with friends.  Unlike the Alma, this purse is light weight.  It was my first LV purchase and I do not regret buying it.  Here are my shots with my LV!

I love my speedy!

My Speedy in Baguio.

The speedy is Louis Vuitton’s first ever city carry all bag and is a must have for women with a love for fashion.  The perfect accessory for getting around town in style while carrying all the essentials! (from the official Louis Vuitton website).  A close up look at my Speedy:

My first LV!

I believe every hard-working woman deserves a speedy!I absolutely adore my speedy in Damier Ebene. My friend, however, prefers it in monogram. Hmmm… I think they are both a beauty :-) How do you like your speedy?

My Louis Vuitton Alma Multicolore Noir

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

The Alma is one of the most iconic bag designs of Louis Vuitton. That’s why Like any LV lover, this was definitely one of my dream bags! However, to have this bag entails a lot of serious money, which I do not really have. I’ve spent so much money on bags already that getting another one- and a Louis Vuitton at that, would be a sin! With a house loan in process, we are bracing ourselves for tough times. But of course, I am just human- and being so, I cannot exactly say no to a good offer!
I got my second hand Louis Vuitton Alma Multicolore Noir from a fashionista friend who gave it to me at a friendly rate. I could not miss the chance! My arms are so longing to carry the prestigious alma that I knew I had to grab it! After thoroughly inspecting the material and concluding that it is gorgeously authentic, I jumped at it.
Here’s my stunning Alma:

The multicolore print is still vibrant and beautiful. The leather has turned patina.

Louis Vuitton introduced its multicolore line in 2003.

It has a zipped pocket on the outside and pointy rivets around the base of the bag. Of course all hardwares are made of golden brass. Beautiful!

A peek inside the alma.

I could not get a clear picture of the datecode but it's there. A note on datecodes for the multicolore line: if the datecodes are dated before 2003, then your purse is a fake.

Multicolore prints are so alive and vibrant!

There are 33 different colors in an authentic multicolore. There shouldn't be any red LV sign.

The only obvious sign that my bag is second-hand is its base. A little uneven patina on the base.

I can't help falling in love with this bag!

Me and my Alma in a wedding reception.

My LV Alma is definitely an excellent buy! For my next LV purchase (though I don’t know how long would that be), I’m looking into getting a totally or a palermo. *keeping my fingers crossed*
Thanks and God bless you all!

Bag Love: Coach Signature Daisy Large Tote

Friday, January 20th, 2012

I’m really happy to tell the world about my new love- My Coach Daisy! Being a happy mom of 3, choosing a bag that would be convenient and baby-friendly is a must! My good-old fashionista buddy, Karen, told me that slings are in for 2012. Well, that alone is an answered prayer for trying-hard-to-be-fashionable-while-slinging-a-baby-around mommies like yours truly, haha. I have proven the hard way that a baby plus an LV Alma or Speedy or any short-handle bag is a no-no!
While my big-timer friend got herself a Prada Gauffre Tessuto in Nylon for a slingy, I got a cheaper but really pretty one for me.
I bought my Coach Daisy from a friend of a friend who just arrived from the states a month ago. Similar items sold in eBay Philippines cost approximately Php11,000. I got mine a few thousand pesos lower than that *yey*. I got this bag because I wanted a sling bag that can double as a mommy bag. Yes, more than its outer appeal, I love that its also very sturdy. Since it’s a sling, both of my hands are free, which is very nice since I need ‘em most of the time especially when I’m with the kids. Here are snapshots of my new everyday bag.

Coach paperbag and box!

Bag still fresh and covered with cc monogram printed wrapper.

Another covering- this time plastic! Wish it had the cc prints, too :)

Sneak peak

With all tags in. The feeling girly in me absolutely adores the pink daisy hangtag!

Something I'm not really fond of is its screaming dark pinkish interior. Well, I could live with it.

It comes with detachable slings. I use the long and short handles alternately and I just love its versatility.

Tory Burch Tory Nylon Tote in Black: My New ‘Mommy Bag’

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011

I love bags. No, let me get that right, I LOOOOOVE BAGS!  However, as much as I want to indulge myself, I do try my best to be reasonable in choosing bags.  My criteria includes- brand, style, material, aesthetics, and because of my very important role as a MOMMY, I’ve added ease of use, and size!  Oh, over and above anything else, Louis Vuitton remains to be at the top of my list.  But I gotta admit, they don’t bring me happiness all of the time!  I love my Speedy and Alma but these handheld bags are honestly, torture to lag around if you have a baby who wants to be carried, too!  Yes I know, I should get a neverfull or a totally, but seriously, I don’t think a Louis Vuitton purse deserves to be stuffed with all sorts of mommy and baby thingies.  That’s why in moments where being a MOMMY is of top most priority, I turn to my handy dandy totes- my large and medium long handle Longchamps, my Dooney, and just recently, my beautiful Tory Burch Tory Nylon Tote.

This bag is gorgeous! It is simple yet sturdy- definitely a very good alternative for mommies who want to be subtly fashionable yet still be effective in performing various mommy duties and responsibilities.  I also love that I got one in black nylon- which essentially means, baby friendly.:-)  I am so loving this brand right now that I may soon buy myself matching Tory Burch shoes.

Definitely a momma's BBF (best bag friend)! Alongside my everyday necessities, I also stash diapers, baby clothes, an iPad, and other what-have-you's in this super roomy bag!

I love the iconic logo of Tory Burch. It's a shame not many people are aware of this brand. I think they make absolutely amazing products!

My Dooney and Bourke Purse

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

I am not ashamed to say that I am a sucker for designer bags. I love them, I even dream about them (pathetic I know haha)… Glad to know I am not alone because most of my friends share the same bagaholic symptoms. It was like 5 years ago when I started investing in high-end bags. However, my limited purchasing power allowed me to only buy a few. These bags are stashed neatly inside a glass cabinet- awaiting that special occasion where they can go out and be rightfully showcased to the world.
Lately I have been having feelings of regret since I really am not fully enjoying the benefits of these bags. I mean, my life is practically work and home- with work being as simple as going to school and dealing with little preschoolers who obviously do not have any inkling as to what purses are.
This dilemma made me consider getting pretty but less costly bags. Specifically, I turned my attention to Longchamps. My Longchamp is ideal for everyday use… It is roomy and beautiful in its own special way. Most importantly, I regard it as my ‘rain’ bag since I can use it on a rainy day without worries. I only have one simple Longchamp bag that’s why I was scouting for another one since I was starting to love it. Before I even got the chance to buy one my good friend recommended a Dooney for an everyday bag.
Dooney and Bourke is an established brand in the US. Initially, I wasn’t much interested because I have associated Dooney bags with psychedelic designs and vibrant colors, which are not really my taste. However, all these perceptions vanished as I saw the bag that was offered to me. I loved it right away because of its appealing but subtle design.
So I bought the bag using the money that was supposedly meant for a new Longchamp.
Here are the reasons why I love my Dooney.
1.) It has a funky and cool design but in a subdued way.
2.) It is roomy- ideal for mommies like me!
3.) It is comfortable to use! The straps have the right length and width and sit nicely on my shoulders.
4.) It is not so ordinary, like Longchamps are nowadays.
For now, I feel happy to wear a bag that is to my liking- beautiful and convenient. I don’t feel sad anymore about my other bags in the cabinet because I know they will have their own time to shine soon…
